PLANT MANAGER:

Role/Purpose:

The objective of this role is to lead as the Plant Manager – Operations in enhancing and maintaining production efficiencies at the EARL INTERNATIONAL Treatment Plant. This entails both forward-thinking to suggest enhancements and anticipate potential challenges, as well as providing direction for future plant modifications to enhance performance. The role also involves data analysis and trend identification to pinpoint deviations from desired standards.

Key Accountabilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT:

The Ventilation Engineer will be tasked with planning, managing, and ensuring an occupational environment conducive to good health and productivity. Responsibilities include ventilation planning & survey, statutory monitoring and reporting, supervision of ventilation constructions/fans, among others.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Health, Safety, and Environment

  • Ensure a conducive work environment maintaining contaminants and environmental stressors below occupational exposure limits.
  • Provide a safe and conducive work environment by ensuring adequate ventilation in all working areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Mine ventilation and Occupational Health regulations as per Ghana Mining Regulations.

Strategic

  • Plan and be accountable for mine ventilation works, including fan placement, regulator design, and stoppage sealing to deliver required quantities of fresh air to scheduled working places.
  • Prepare and oversee outputs from monthly ventilation surveys.
  • Issue Ventilation Work Instructions (e.g., stope & development blast, construction).

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent post-tertiary qualifications in a relevant (mining) engineering discipline is a plus.

TRAINING COORDINATOR

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating all corporate, project, and role-specific training initiatives throughout the operations of Earl International Group Ghana Gold mine.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing the Training Management Plan for Earl International Group Ghana Gold Mine.
  • Creating and maintaining the Training Needs Analysis for all competencies and courses required across various departments and roles within the site.
  • Scheduling and organizing both internal and external training sessions and assessments in alignment with approved Training Plans, ensuring timely completion.
  • Validating records management, verifying completed training and assessment tools, and accurately uploading all evidence into the training database.
  • Establishing a database that accurately reflects role/competency clusters.

  • Monitor equipment availability and utilization, prioritizing production based on these factors.
  • Assist Mine Captains in addressing queries and handling requests related to mine operations, including problem-solving.
  • Serve as an expert in development drilling, production drilling, charging and blasting, hauling systems, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Mine Captains and Senior Planning Engineer on short-range mine plans to ensure feasibility.
  • Assess all activities and processes related to mine operations.
  • Provide safety and performance assessments in coordination with Mine Captain and Underground Manager.
  • Assist in preparing reports and completing documentation related to Mine Operations.
  • Participate in developing applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained in accordance with company safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Shift Boss Certificate of Competency issued by the Inspectorate Division of Minerals Commission-Ghana.
  • Minimum 5 years of underground mining experience with 3-5 years of hands-on exposure in a similar position.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Certification in training the trainers or supervisory competence.
  • Strong budgeting, planning, and scheduling skills for production and projects.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Effective management skills with the ability to train and mentor others.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility with rotations, including night shifts, when required.
  • High commitment to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Must hold a valid Ghanaian driving license.
  • Knowledge of operational aspects of Alimak mining or shrinkage stope mining is advantageous.
