NEAR FATAL INCIDENT INVOLVING ILLEGAL MINERS IN OUR UNDERGROUND WORKING AREA

Thursday, June 5, 2025 – On the night of Sunday, June 2, 2025, 42 illegal miners were rescued by private security guards in the underground mine area of Earl International Group Ghana Gold Ltd.

The suspects got trapped in blast fumes concentrated stopes at Shaft 4 level 5.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the illegal miners entered the stopes through illicit mining pits ostensibly to pilfer gold ore shortly after a scheduled blast was conducted by Earl.

The investigations further revealed that the suspects prior to the blast were spotted by an underground mining team of Earl on routine checks and cautioned to exit the area.

However, an immediate return of the illegal miners after a blast resulted in, they inhaling blast fumes. A combined team of rescuers and private security was dispatched underground to rescue the trapped illegal miners and surface with them through the main Shaft exit. They were transported to a nearby health center for medical attention.

The persistent invasion of our underground mine by these illegal miners effectively disrupts our operations and raises safety concerns.

While we continue to appeal to our stakeholders to intervene in addressing this issue, management assures the public, regulators, and stakeholders of its commitment to deploying legitimate and sustainable means of addressing this situation.
