Deputy Chief Inspector of Mines John Amoanyi on Wednesday February 28, 2024 paid a working visit to Earl International Group Gold Ghana Limited mine site in Gbane in the Upper East Region.

His visit to our mines was essentially to engage management on collaborative efforts between the Minerals Commission and Earl International Group to enhance safety of staff to achieve a desired target of avoiding serious accidents and fatalities in the mines.

As part of efforts to optimize safety of mine workers in the mines, Earl has over the period implemented recommendations by the Minerals Commission, introduced enhanced safety protocols and assigned duties to competent persons as stated in Regulation 44 of LI 2182 of the minerals and mining regulations.

At the engagement with management during his visit, the Deputy Chief Inspector of Mines admonished management to put in more measures to eliminate serious and fatal mine accidents.

“We need to do more to eliminate or minimize mine accidents. Minerals Commission as a Regulator is concerned about safety of staff in mines,” Mr Amoanyi admonished.
