Earl International Group (GH) Gold Limited (the “Company” or “Earl Group”) has taken note of an amateur video circulating in the public domain showing a worker of the company physically assaulting some yet-to-be-identified persons.
Management strongly condemns this conduct, as such behavior is unacceptable and inconsistent with the values and principles of Earl Group.
Preliminary investigations by management indicate that the individuals depicted in the video are illegal miners apprehended for unlawfully operating within the company’s underground mining area, and are not employees. While we strongly condemn illegal mining activities, we unequivocally maintain that such circumstances do not justify assault, physical abuse, or any form of unlawful treatment.
Following the incident, the worker involved was promptly identified and dismissed with immediate effect for his misconduct. The individual is no longer employed by Earl Group. Additional disciplinary measures have also been taken in accordance with internal procedures.
Earl Group is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful working environment and ensuring that all individuals within its operational areas are treated fairly and in accordance with the law. The company does not tolerate violence, physical abuse, or misconduct under any circumstances.
We will cooperate fully with the relevant authorities in any investigation into this incident and remains committed to ensuring appropriate accountability. We regret this incident and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct, safety, and responsible mining practices across our operations.
